Job Coaching Strategies & Natural Supports

This training explores the knowledge and skills required to become successful at Job Coaching. The objectives of this program are designed to prepare the participants to:

  • Understand the values of supported employment as it impacts service delivery for job coaching best practices.
  • Demonstrate how to practice culture competence in providing teaching and support services within an interdisciplinary team and for collaborating with family and significant others
  • Practice integrating skills with natural supports to effectively fade artificial supports with communications strategies based on the principles of person centered planning.
  • Use job coach skills to plan and create an individualized job analysis to develop an instructional design for monitoring worker job performance skills and maximize job retention
  • Identify self management skills with direct teaching principles such as prompting, modeling, practice, natural reinforcement and feedback to teach the learner how they can influence their own behavior

Target Audience: This program is designed for new Job Coaches and Production Supervisors employed by community based programs and supported employment programs, professionals associated with affirmative industries and work related programs.
